Grade 6 to Year 7
The Grade 6 to Year 7 transition program at WCB begins in grade 5 with local schools bringing students into the college for different activities. Throughout the beginning of Grade 6 our transition leader attends incursion in Grade 6 Primary classroom. Activities in these sessions are designed to answer the many and varied questions asked by Grade 6 students and to provide them with a familiar face when they come to visit the College. All feeder primary schools are invited into the College on several days throughout the year to establish a feeling of what secondary education looks and sounds like. Students that are enrolled in the College for the following year are also invited to the statewide orientation day (held in early December). On this day, students will be in their future classes meeting staff and future classmates, as well as exploring the College facilities.
