On Monday 24th August, the BDSCSC held its year 7/8 sports day across Bendigo.
Year 7/8 Boys and girls from the Bendigo District high schools could choose to compete in numerous sports. These sports were; Hockey, Table Tennis, Basketball and Futsal (Indoor Soccer).

Weeroona competed well all day in every sport.

Futsal
In the Futsal the Weeroona boy’s team went on to win the competition.
The girls won 1 of their 3 games but competed well all day. Thank you to Zac H, Laura K, Brenton H and Jayden K.

Basketball
In the basketball Weeroona had a year 7 boys and girls team and a year 8 boys and girls team.
The year 7 boys had 2 wins and 2 losses and finished 3rd.
The year 7 Girls finished equal 1st overall on points with Crusoe, but in the head to head game Crusoe beat Weeroona, therefore due to the rules, Crusoe won the competition.

Year 8 Boys finished fourth overall, but competed well all day. The highlight of the day was a hard fought game against BSE, with Weeroona going down by only 6points. BSE was the eventual winners of the competition.

Year 8 Girls finished equal third with 2 wins and 2 losses. They played an aggressive style of game all day and gave the more skilled teams a run for the money. The team was unlucky not to finish higher in the competition.

Thank You to Ben Waters, Kyle Walsh, Jake B and Brittany G for coaching on the day. Also a thank you to Sophie A and Emily W for scoring.

Table Tennis
Weeroona had four teams representing the college at Table Tennis.
The Year 8 girls finished second overall, while the other teams ranked fourth in the divisions of Year 7 Boys, Year 7 girls and Year 8 boys.
All teams competed well throughout the day.

Hockey
Only one side represented Weeroona and that was the year 7/8 girls team. All girls competed well throughout the whole day in trying conditions and against quality opposition. Well done to the Girls in their efforts.
